The greenest repair is the one that keeps a whole container out of the recycling stream. Replacing a worn valve or torn cage costs a fraction of a new tote and saves roughly 100 pounds of HDPE and steel from an early exit. We also salvage sound parts off totes that fail reconditioning, so much of what we sell is itself kept in circulation.

Get the Right Fit
Bring the thread, not the guesswork.
Most composite totes use the S60x6 (60 mm buttress) cap thread and a 2" discharge, but there are exceptions — DIN 61, 6" NPS lids, and legacy fittings all show up in the field. When you request parts, tell us the tote type and, if you can, the marking on the cap or valve. We will match the exact adapter or gasket so it seals on the first try.

The wrong elastomer swells, hardens, or dissolves. The right one seals for years. Use this as a starting point, then confirm against your product data.

Repair, re-fit, or retire?
Repair
Leaking valve or dry gasket
The cheapest, most common fix. Swap the valve, cap, or gasket and the tote is back in service for the price of a part. Nothing else needs to change.
Re-fit
Bent cage or cracked base
A sound bottle in a damaged frame is not scrap. A replacement cage or pallet base rebuilds it into a fully stackable, shippable container again.
Retire
Failed bottle
If the bottle itself cracks or fails pressure testing, harvest the good parts and send the shell to the upcycling workshop or recycling. Never the landfill.

What thread do most IBC caps and valves use?
Most composite totes use the S60x6 (60 mm buttress) cap thread and a 2-inch discharge valve. DIN 61, 6-inch NPS lids, and legacy fittings also appear, so read the marking on your cap or valve before ordering an adapter.
Which gasket material should I use?
Buna-N for water and many oils, EPDM for water and mild chemicals, Viton for aggressive solvents and harsh chemistry, silicone for food contact. Matching the elastomer to your liquid is the difference between a dry pallet and a drip.
Can I turn a tote into a water dispenser?
Yes. An S60x6-to-garden-hose adapter plus a brass or poly spigot makes a gravity-fed dispensing station. Use a food-grade tote for anything potable, and see the upcycled goods page for build ideas.
