EcoIBC USA
We Haul

IBC tote transport & logistics.

We move totes both directions across the lower 48 — palletized LTL for a pallet or two, full truckloads for volume, and reverse logistics to collect your empties. Freight is quoted alongside the totes so you see one landed price, not a surprise on the invoice.

Freight Modes

Three ways we move totes.

01

Palletized LTL

Less-than-truckload for a pallet or a few. Totes ship strapped and stacked on pallets, ideal for smaller orders and tight budgets.

1–several palletsLiftgate options
02

Full truckload (FTL)

Dedicated 53' trailers for volume moves — up to roughly 40–45 totes per load. Fastest per-tote economics for bulk and standing orders.

~40–45 totesWholesale rate
03

Reverse logistics

We come to you. Empties pickup at your dock feeds them back into the loop — often on a truck that would otherwise deadhead.

The Loading Math

How many totes fit?

A standard caged composite IBC has roughly a 40" x 48" pallet footprint — so about two totes occupy one standard pallet position side by side on a trailer floor. Because totes are tall and heavy rather than light, IBC loads typically cube out on floor space before they hit a weight limit.

EquipmentTypical tote capacity
Standard pallet footprint~2 totes side by side
LTL pallet positionPriced per pallet / per space
53' dry van (floor-loaded)~40–45 totes
Weight, not spaceEmpties rarely hit weight limits

Exact counts depend on the tote size and whether you're moving full or empty. Compare footprints on the sizes page.

Plan Your Move

Buying, selling, or both — we'll carry the freight.

Pick Your Mode

LTL or truckload? Match the load to the mode.

The right freight mode is mostly a question of count and whether the totes are full or empty. Use this as a quick decision guide, then let us confirm on your quote.

Pickup & Delivery Logistics

What happens on the dock.

A smooth pickup or delivery comes down to access and readiness. Totes are heavy and tall, so the equipment and space on your end shape both the schedule and the rate.

  • Dock-height door: fastest — the trailer backs in and totes roll on/off by pallet jack
  • No dock? Ask for a liftgate so totes lower to ground level
  • Forklift on site speeds loading and can reduce accessorial fees
  • Stage totes palletized and grouped by size before the truck arrives
  • Clear the approach so a 53' van has room to maneuver
  • Have the BOL count ready — it's what the driver signs against
Accessorials to know

What can move the freight bill

Liftgate service, limited-access or residential sites, inside delivery, and appointment scheduling are common LTL add-ons. Telling us up front means the quote you approve is the price you pay.

For volume moves, FTL sidesteps most of these because you're buying the whole trailer, not a class-rated space.

Freight With a Conscience

Fuller trucks are cheaper — and cleaner.

A truck burns nearly the same fuel whether it's half full or packed. By consolidating loads and pairing outbound deliveries with empties pickups, we cut deadhead miles — which lowers your per-tote rate and the carbon per tote reused at the same time. The circular loop shows up on the freight bill, not just the sustainability report.

Freight FAQ

Answers before you book a load.

How many totes fit on a 53' trailer?
Roughly 40 to 45 caged composite totes floor-load a 53' dry van. Because two share one pallet position, empty loads usually cube out on floor space before they hit a weight limit.
When should I ship LTL vs. full truckload?
LTL suits a pallet or a few totes; FTL wins on volume — about a dozen or more — with lower per-tote cost and often a day faster transit since it skips terminal handling.
Do you pick up empty totes?
Yes. Reverse logistics collects empties at your dock and feeds our reconditioning loop, often on a truck that would otherwise deadhead. We can pair a delivery and a pickup on one trip.
How are totes packaged for transit?
On their integral forkliftable pallet base, valves capped and secured, strapped or shrink-wrapped to the deck as needed, with counts documented on the BOL.
Do I need a loading dock?
No — ask for liftgate service and totes lower to ground level. A dock or on-site forklift is faster and can reduce accessorial fees, but isn't required.
